Ledsham & Manor councillor, Gareth Anderson, came to the Executive and urged them to allow far more time for his residents to respond to a major planning application.
“We have been expecting an application for around 2,000 houses in my ward for a long time now” said Gareth, “but the scale of this was unbelievable. Almost 2,000 pages across many documents makes it impossible for us to make a reasoned response by 22nd June”
Speaking at the Executive meeting on Thursday, Gareth welcomed the agreement of Cllr Riley, Executive member for Environment, that the usual 3 week deadline would not be enforced in this case. Residents and the local Action Group will be able to respond at any time prior to determination of the application.
