New speed limits have been introduced on stretches of the B5393 in Manley and Alvanley from 60 mph to 40 mph and 50 mph.
This follows joint working and funding between Cheshire West and Chester Council, the Borough Councillor for Gowy ward, Councillor Eleanor Johnson, Manley Parish Council and Mouldsworth Parish Council.
Councillor Johnson who helped fund the project through her Member Budget said:
“I am sure that these new speed limits will be welcomed by local people and have come about thanks to the four of us working closely together. This is definitely localism in action and it is great that something which has been wanted by residents has been put in place.”
A 40 mph speed limit begins at the end of the 30 mph speed limit north of Smithy Lane in Mouldsworth to a point just south of Pingot Lane, Manley.
A 50 mph speed limit begins south of Pingot Lane to the 30 mph speed limit near Towers Lane in Alvanley.
