Cllr Keith Board: Tea Dance enjoyed by 120 in Ellesmere Port

A free Tea Dance at Ellesmere Port Civic Hall was enjoyed by 120 people on a warm afternoon of dancing, fun, tea and cakes.

Councillor Keith Board, the Older People’s Champion, invited older people across Cheshire West to take a twirl on the dance floor as part of its commitment to exercise through dance, to improve health and wellbeing.

The Mayor of Ellesmere Port, Cllr Bob Crompton and a number of local councillors were present to support the event and meet the local people.

Councillor Keith Board said: “I was pleased to see so many people responding to this invitation ‘to dance for health and wellbeing’.

“ Social isolation is an issue faced by many people and this event gives everyone an opportunity to have fun and socialise.”

He thanked everyone involved in making the afternoon a great success, particularly the pupils of Whitby High School whose interval performance showcased young people’s talent.
