Cheshire West & Chester Conservatives would like to thank everyone who voted Conservative on 7 May, returning 36 Conservative Councillors and 3 Conservative MPs Graham Evans, Antoinette Sandbach and George Osborne whose constituencies cover parts of Cheshire West & Chester.

We did however lose our majority, so Cheshire West & Chester now has a 1 seat Labour majority and Labour also took Chester from Stephen Mosley.  We would like to thank all those who stood for the Conservative Party in Cheshire West & Chester, whether successful or not and for those who helped with our campaign, often over many years.

Council Leader Mike Jones said: “We in the Conservative Party are incredibly proud of what we have created over the last six years. Over £600m into roads, infrastructure and schools, with another £134m going forwards.

“We are proud of reducing the budget and creating one of the best Councils in the country. I’m sure there are some challenging times ahead but I look forward to this with interest.”
